Calling all Projects

Mon Jul 6, 2009, 7:37 PM
Yay, I had Kil read out what I have so far on the comic script, and he couldn't do it in one reading. Makes me feel like some sort of progress is, er, progressing. Still, they've barely begun their lessons and journey, and have a looooooooooooooooooooooooong way to go. Plus, I plan to have people edit the hell out of this before it even thinks about being sketched out. Some of the scenes I'm really excited about sharing, others...hopefully people's critique can help me fix. I just hope to finish this darn thing before I'm 50, so I can go on to the next one.

So, who here is working on a story? A comic? Some other project? How's that going? Where do you hope your project goes (ie. online posting, publishing, more?) What helps you write/draw/become inspired?

Love seeing what other people are up to. Makes me happy to see so many people doing what they love, and exploring their world in such creative ways.

Haha, I didn't want to slap such a big conversation in ~whisperpntr journal, so I posted here ^^'
On kids matter, I used to think I didn't want any, but then I changed my mind (still not fond of babies though), well, I don't know your reasons, but you are entitled to them! but of course some people who love you may not see it as natural and procede to care about you the way they know. Anyway, you may (or not) change your mind in the future.

Missionary work is cool. There are a good bunch of people out there that need love and support and missionary groups offer that! we go out there, and give them a hand, may it be with supplies, service, or just moral support, you cannot blame people who want to share the love we get from God, even if you do not believe in Him. Love cannot (or should not) be banned. There is also hard love, which is more difficult to understand... but it works some times. Go and shout to people who are doing self righteous acts or truly evil stuff and maybe you will slap some sense into them.

And yeah! my english goes well most of the times, but is hard when it comes to explain abstract thoughts or non-literal phrases D: (oh, hell, aren't those two the same thing? lol)

And by the by, thanks for moving the conversation over here instead of Whisp's journal, and for speaking so pleasantly on what is a loaded issue for many. :)
Yeah, I might change my mind on the child thing (sorry, tried to cover that in my message), just like an atheist may change their mind to become Christian, or vice versa. I merely don't agree that they should have people constantly questioning or trying to "help" them. Truly, it is insulting to many. As someone who has lived with a person who has OCPD (you can think of it as a very controlling personality), I had to struggle very hard to realize that whether or not people have good intentions, I have to make my own decisions. I didn't make my own choices as a kid, and it really isn't healthy for either the person doing the preaching, or the person listening to the preaching, religious or non.

The helping others part of missionary work is cool (though not always even present in missionary work). But, honestly, I'd be very upset if there was an "athiest helpers" group. Helping others should not be limited by a belief system, which is why I love the fact that the atheists I know online and off, offer help to those who want it without thought of promoting any sort of god or specific group's love. Some of them even work within Christian based groups like Habitat for Humanity, because they just want to help. Period. I respect that much more personally. :)

I can definitely understand why that would be difficult in a language that is not your own!
