I needed a quick study break, so here is a very quick and jumpy, 8 frame, ballpoint pen animation. Sorry for the knitty-grittyness of it.
This is a young version of a now rather moth-eaten panda who will be up in scraps (along with some Asian golden cat, Pampas cat, Red panda, and Sand cat sketches) when I have time to post the sketches I've been doing in class the past few days (what, are you supposed to take notes in class or something?). He's part of a story centered around Asian golden cats (because they are so very awesome), but it will have everything from binturongs to kinkajous, and from dholes to pygmy hogs. Not that you'll be seeing much of this story for at least a year. I just keep bits and bobs of various project ideas on deviantart so I can come back to them when I'm not, you know, trying to graduate.
Wow!! That's a very good animation! His anatamy stays intact the whole way through - a lot of animations I see around here don't do so well with that...
Are you a professional animator now, or are you studying animation? I had always wanted to be an animator as a young'un (lol...I'm not that old...)...I used to make flip books and such...but nowadays, I don't find many places that teach/need work from animators. A friend of the family works at a studio that makes animated commercials for Trix and Lucky Charms and all that, and he wanted to show me around, but I got hired by a toy company, so now I have very little time to go out there and check it out...;_; I think animation would be a good job for me, after a little training, because I can't color, and in animation, there are people who do that for you! XD But there are definate flaws I have that need to be worked out, first.
Every time I see an animation from you, I feel inspired to make one, myself! But now I have close to no hope for it at all -- my dog ate my light table cord! XD Darn mutt. He's lucky he's cute.
