Characters for 's contest. I wasn't sure if we could submit more than one character or not. If not, just pick your favorite Evie, or have me choose one. Either way works.

Loving these current character design contests! I'm excited to see Eviecats' comic "Painted!", especially because her comic covers conservation, something I am trying to promote within my own project. Background-less version available here:

Ohin: (in the middle) Name means "chief" in Swahili. Ohin is a male African painted dog in his prime. He's a natural leader, and well loved by his pack members. His coat is unusual in that it is darker and redder that normal painted dog coats, and he also has a white neck ruff, and an all-white tail rather than the normal tri-colored tail of his species.

Moswen: (far left) Name means "light of color" in Swahili. Moswen is mousey and weak. She lost most of her tail and some of her ear when her pack got into a fight with a group of spotted hyenas. Moswen comes from a different pack than Ohin. Not well liked by her packmates to begin with, when she became pregnant by a stray male, tensions grew even higher. Knowing that her pups will either be killed upon birth, or simply will starve as pups from higher ranking females are fed first, Moswen leaves her pack in search of a safer life for her and her litter. She is a young, inexperienced dog, and a life alone means danger. She must find a new pack to join if she has any hope of keeping herself or her young alive.
Ever since the spotted hyena attack, Moswen is deathly afraid of hyenas. Ironically, her distended belly and stubby tail make her look rather hyena-like in shape.

Tumbo: (far right) Name means "stomach" in Swahili. Tumbo is an easy going brown hyena who strives hard to please others. Were Moswen to meet him, she would be afraid of him, and this would hurt the sensitive Tumbo's feelings. Tumbo is gentle and jovial, and mainly eats fruit. And he eats plenty of it. Tumbo knows that happiness is a well fed stomach.
