Don't usually post things done for friends or traditional media paintings, because they are more personal. But, since this ended up being for a group of people, I don't care so much. I have a friend at work who I love to pieces, so on her birthday she got frosted meeses. I would have liked to have done more than this crap, but with a pinched nerve, a severe lack of time, and only a butter knife and Ziplock bags to frost with, this had to do. I love looking at cake photos. I wish more people would post them on DA. I mainly see fondant cakes though, which look *absolutely* amazing...but I can't ever quantify them as cakes because they tend to taste like shoe wax or grainy marshmallows.

I'm ashamed to say that the cakes were from box mixes. Yellow cakes that use only egg yolks to get the rich yellow color (opposed to food coloring) taste a thousand times better. Factory farmed/commercial eggs don't cut it though. The yolks are too pale. You have to find good free-range eggs, or have a neighbor who raises chickens. Then the yolks are full of flavor and color.

Wen I was little, I wanted to be a cake decorater... We make our family members' cakes each tiseone has a birthday and I love to decorate them!

I haven't seen any cake photos here on DA so I will be sure to look around!
