Yay, I had Kil read out what I have so far on the comic script, and he couldn't do it in one reading. Makes me feel like some sort of progress is, er, progressing. Still, they've barely begun their lessons and journey, and have a looooooooooooooooooooooooong way to go. Plus, I plan to have people edit the hell out of this before it even thinks about being sketched out. Some of the scenes I'm really excited about sharing, others...hopefully people's critique can help me fix. I just hope to finish this darn thing before I'm 50, so I can go on to the next one.
So, who here is working on a story? A comic? Some other project? How's that going? Where do you hope your project goes (ie. online posting, publishing, more?) What helps you write/draw/become inspired?
Love seeing what other people are up to. Makes me happy to see so many people doing what they love, and exploring their world in such creative ways.

Good luck with your comic. Maybe I missed this, but what's it about?

Good luck to anyone else, including you. C:
The other, larger project is a sort of steam/dieselpunk story in an alternate universe, with all kinds of crazy technology and politicking etc. That one is much more visual, so I'll definitely make it a comic. That one is also meant to make more of a statement, whereas the fox story is more personal, and therefore easier for me to write/create.
The steampunk comic is just barely started. I have a theme, and a couple of vague characters and settings, but not much else.
Both will just be more stuff on the internet though. No publishing or anything. And Music. Music is what inspires me. I listen to all kinds. One minute I might be listening to Beethoven, and the next I'll have KMFDM playing. Each genre and song has its place. A lot of industrial and metal for the steampunk stuff, for the fox story, more melancholy flamenco guitar or violin tunes, or other softer music.

It's an animal adventure comic set in the Nepal/Bhutan region of Asia. It's supposed to just be a little thing before I work on some more serious projects, but it's still taken a ton of research. XD
Oh cool. What sort of animals are you thinking of putting in?

I have that griffin story of mine still on the backburner... after a couple attempts at starting a comic, I've been leaning back toward my original idea of writing the story as a novel. My current comic is probably going to keep my main focus away from it for a while. I don't have any lofty goals for it yet, except to really get it rolling sometime. I think it's a pretty cool idea, so I wouldn't mind if it went anywhere.

One of my other, newer projects is a mythology comic. It isnt really in a formal comic style though, so far I feel like using a really free flowing panel-less style with just a few pictures to illustrate a story. Ive done a creation myth introducing the five main gods, but Im thinking of doing other comics in the same style to illustrate other stories.
Not trying to get anything published, its all just for fun.
I take a lot of inspiration from dreams. I often use them to create stories (used two different ones to give me the idea for the mythology comic).
